The Kannada entertainment industry was left shocked on Wednesday (May 13) after the sudden demise of Dileep Raj. The actor and producer reportedly suffered a massive heart attack and passed away at the age of 47. According to reports, Dileep was rushed to a hospital in the early hours after his health suddenly deteriorated, but doctors could not save him. His family later confirmed the news of his death. As fans and colleagues continue to mourn the loss, one of the actor’s old interviews has now resurfaced online and is touching many people.

Dileep Raj was known for his memorable performances in films like Milana and U Turn, along with the popular television serial Hitler Kalyana. Over the years, he built a strong reputation in Kannada cinema and television through emotionally grounded performances and versatile roles.

What was Dileep Raj's one simple dream?

Now, an old interview with Rapid Rashmi has gone viral following his death. In the conversation, Dileep opened up about life, money, success and what he truly wanted for himself in the future.

When asked what money meant to him at this stage of life, Dileep admitted that wealth no longer held the same importance for him. He shared that over time, he had started valuing relationships, love and personal happiness more than material success. According to the actor, a major part of his focus had shifted towards his personal life rather than his professional ambitions.

Dileep also made a surprising confession during the interview. He said, "If I divide my life into personal and professional, today 75 per cent of my focus is on my personal life. That’s where I stand today. Honestly, I’ve reached a stage where I feel I can live comfortably even with Rs 20,000 a month. I don’t feel the need for huge amounts of money anymore. Sometimes I think we are the ones complicating our own lives. Nobody came and told us we must drive imported cars, we created those expectations ourselves."

Speaking about his future plans, Dileep revealed that he wanted to retire by the age of 50. He said he no longer wanted the stress and pressure that came with production work and the entertainment business. However, he clarified that his love for acting would always remain. He mentioned that if an interesting role came his way in the future, he would still happily return to the screen.

The actor also opened up about the struggles he faced throughout his journey in the industry. Unlike many people who describe their hardships with regret, Dileep said he never looked at his struggles negatively because acting was a path he had chosen willingly. He explained that he always knew the industry would be difficult and had entered it with that understanding.

According to Dileep, every generation faces different kinds of struggles, and instead of blaming the industry, people should learn from their experiences and grow stronger. He compared life to different kinds of roads, some smooth and easy, while others are filled with stones and thorns. For him, the real choice was whether one wanted to complain about the journey or learn from it.
