Kangana Ranaut, who is basking in the success of her period-drama 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', recently spoke about the lack of support from the Hindi film industry.

Having spoken up about nepotism and a close-knit industry in the past, the actress has now said that she has been 'absolutely ignored' by the fraternity, but when they need her support they 'shamelessly' call her.

Accoding to a Times Now report, the 31-year-old said, “In 2014, I don’t think all the accolades (that were showered upon the film 'Queen') were for me, it was for Phantom, who was coming up and they were having screenings after screenings for people of Vikas (Bahl) and Anurag Kashyap. They had a lot of friends, so they used to come. I have always been absolutely ignored.”

"After 'Tanu Weds Manu: Returns' also, I have had so many trials, they would just not come. But when it comes to them, they call me shamelessly, I even sort of cancel my shoots and make sure I attend them. Now, I have stopped because it’s getting too much,” she added.

Citing the example of Alia Bhatt, she said that she spoke to Bhatt and Meghna Gulzar for ‘half-an-hour’ after the release of 'Raazi'. Ranaut also said that the 'Raazi' actress had requested her to watch the trailer of her film.

Elaborating further, Ranaut said, “These girls send me their trailers like Alia (Bhatt) sent me the trailer of 'Raazi' and said, ‘Please watch it’. For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or Alia film. For me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country.”

Ranaut said that she had even cancelled her shoots to attend her peers' film premieres.

However, the actress added that when it was their turn to support her, she got no response.

In an earlier TV interview too, Ranaut had raised the issue, saying that she always appreciates and praises her peer's movies and performances, but never receives the love in return.

"You know like you see I will praise Alia or I would praise Anushka or I would praise everyone. I never shied away from going to Deepika's 'Piku' trial. Everyone I have praised in my capacity. Sonakshi's 'Lootera' I saw and the whole year I praised her. I don't get threatened."

Adding that despite this, "they pretend I don't exist...nobody ever talks about my teasers or trailers."
