Kangana Ranaut: It’s hard to have a genuine relationship
The team of 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is buoyed by the response to the trailer and music. This time, Kangana plays a double role, her new character being the Haryanvi athlete Datto.

For Kangana, the toughest part was playing the protagonist and antagonist at the same time. She says, "While Tanu is trying to be feisty and fearless all over again, Datto is a young girl falling for a man who has just got divorced. Justifying two characters, playing against each other was the biggest challenge." Further, pointing out that the movie has a contemporary take on marriages, she says, "It's hard to have a genuine relationship. You hold on, want to make it work... that's what makes this film interesting."
Krishika Lulla of Eros International, that is also producing the film with Aanand, says, "It's wonderful to see how Aanandji and Himanshu Sharma (the writer) have brought out the story. Kangana, Madhavan, Jimmy, all have taken their characters to another level with their performances. The audience is showing their appreciation of the trailer and the songs and that has boosted our confidence."
'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', produced by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions, releases May 22.
