Kangana Ranaut: It’s hard to have a genuine relationship

Given that their first film ends with Tanu wedding Manu, Aanand says about the sequel, "Generally, we take things into the cribbing zone after marriage, I wanted to change that. I think it's the imperfections that make a relalationship." Adding to that, Madhavan calls the sequel a "nice family aspirational film for the middle-class." Maintaining that Manu has changed as anyone else in four years, the actor elaborates, "Aanand has made this larger than life — in a sense that women want a husband like Manu, guys want a woman like Tanu. You'll even find a character like your aunt in the film."

For Kangana, the toughest part was playing the protagonist and antagonist at the same time. She says, "While Tanu is trying to be feisty and fearless all over again, Datto is a young girl falling for a man who has just got divorced. Justifying two characters, playing against each other was the biggest challenge." Further, pointing out that the movie has a contemporary take on marriages, she says, "It's hard to have a genuine relationship. You hold on, want to make it work... that's what makes this film interesting."

Krishika Lulla of Eros International, that is also producing the film with Aanand, says, "It's wonderful to see how Aanandji and Himanshu Sharma (the writer) have brought out the story. Kangana, Madhavan, Jimmy, all have taken their characters to another level with their performances. The audience is showing their appreciation of the trailer and the songs and that has boosted our confidence."
