The wait is over! After years of teasing fans with the possibility of a sequel to his 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’ superstar Kamal Haasan announced a sequel. The ‘Vikarm’ star took to X to declare the good news. At the same time, he also reminded his fans to vote wisely for the Lok Sabha elections.

Dropping pictures of the silhouette of a man riding a horse in the backdrop of a desert, he tweeted, “#Indian2 Releasing worldwide in cinemas 12th July 2024! #1stSingleFromIndian2..” Moments after he tweeted, the post went viral and gained almost 200K views and 8.1K likes. “Best wishes for another Industry hit..” wrote one fan. “WAIT FOR IT. He will dominate your thoughts..” gushed another fan.



The veteran actor also reminded his fans to vote. “Ek HINDUSTANI. Ek VOTE. Ek AAWAAZ. Become the change you want! VOTE RESPONSIBLY..” read the post.


‘Indian 2’ is scheduled to hit the big screens on July 12.

The upcoming sequel will star Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh in prominent roles. Production faced a setback in 2020 when an accident injured the crew on set, prompting a temporary halt. Additionally, shooting was further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
