Kalki Koechlin turns author with new graphic book on motherhood

Nearly two months after actress Kareena Kapoor's 'Pregnancy Bible', actress Kalki Koechlin decided to turn author with her new graphic book on motherhood.

In an Instagram post, the 'Dev.D' star revealed the cover of her debut book, titled 'Elephant In The Womb'. She said that the illustrated non-fiction account of motherhood will release on September 27.

Ukaranian artist Valeriya Polyanychko has worked on the illustrations in the graphic book, which will be published by Penguin Random House India.

Koechlin, who welcomed her daughter with musician-partner Guy Hershberg in February 2019, said that she had been juggling parenting and this project during the lockdown period.

"Available 27th September onwards, everywhere books are sold," she wrote.

A combination of personal essays and think-pieces, the book is a "candid, funny and relatable" account talking about pregnancy and parenting for mothers, expectant mothers, and "anyone even thinking about motherhood".

The book was announced in May this year.
