Kajol beams with pride as hubby Ajay Devgn brings home 3rd National Film Award for 'Tanhaji'

Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn received the National Award in the Best Actor category for his performance in the 2020 film 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' on Friday.

Expressing his gratitude, the actor took to Twitter to thank his fans for all the love. He also posted a video featuring his various avatars from the movies that have got him the National Awards. The montage featured in his 1998 film 'Zakhm' and the 2002 movie 'The Legend Of Bhagat Singh' - both Best Actor wins.


His tweet read, "Not counting the wins or the blessings, just feeling grateful for all of it. Most importantly, your love. I share this win with all of you. Honoured to receive my awards from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu."

His actress-wife Kajol also beamed with pride as her hubby broughy home his third National Film Award.

Sharing a picture of Ajay from the ceremony on her Instagram Story, the actress praised Devgn's style and talent. Her Story caption read, "Bringing home two national awards and looking good is difficult!"

The awards ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Friday evening. The 53-year-old shared the Best Actor win with South star Suriya for his performance in the Sudha Kongra directorial 'Soorarai Pottru'.

Later on Friday, he also shared a picture with Suriya. "It was fantastic to share time with my esteemed colleague and fellow Best Actor Award winner, Suriya. Deeply respect his talent and love his movies," he wrote.

'Tanhaji' also bagged the Best Popular Film Award at the 68th National Film Awards ceremony.

'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' is a historical-action film, which traces the life of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare. Om Raut helmed the project.

Released in January 2020, it features Devgn in the titular role along with Kajol as Savitribai Malusare, and his 'Omkara' co-star, Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Singh Rathore.
