Jr NTR’s next film eyes a January 2026 release

Tollywood icon Jr. NTR and renowned director Prashanth Neel first announced their collaboration in 2022. Today, August 9, the creators revealed an exciting update: their forthcoming movie, currently referred to as 'NTR31,' is scheduled to premiere in theaters on January 9, 2026.

Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the film, took to their official X account to share a poster and confirm the release date. The announcement read, "This time, the earth will tremble under his reign! #NTRNeel will step onto the soil on January 9th, 2026 MAN OF MASSES @tarak9999 #PrashanthNeel @MythriOfficial @NTRArtsOfficial (sic)."

Jr. NTR and Prashanth Neel officially launched the film with a traditional pooja ceremony, attended by the entire cast and crew. Although the film was announced a couple of years ago, it was delayed due to the busy schedules of both the actor and director, preventing its start in 2022.


Rumors suggest that the primary shooting for 'NTR31' will begin in September 2024. Given Jr. NTR's current focus on 'Devara,' his participation in the new project is expected to start a bit later. Details regarding the cast, crew, and shooting schedule will be revealed on the film's official launch day. There is also speculation that the movie might be titled 'Dragon.' Pre-production has been in progress for several months, and the film is expected to be a high-octane commercial blockbuster.
