The incident took place on the bridge, which spans the Cumberland River and remained open to the public during the shoot. According to local police, Bon Jovi and his crew noticed the woman standing on the outer ledge, appearing distraught and ready to jump. Surveillance footage from the scene, shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, captured the moment Bon Jovi approached the woman.

The video, which has since been removed, showed Bon Jovi approaching the woman with a calm demeanor. He initially waved at her and then began talking with her. The singer, known for his compassionate work through the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, was joined by a team member who helped engage the woman in conversation. Together, they successfully guided her back over the railing.


Following the rescue, Bon Jovi embraced the woman and spoke with her until emergency responders arrived. Police Chief John Drake praised Bon Jovi and his team for their intervention, stating, “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
