Johnny Depp says he doesn't need Hollywood, blasts media for writing ‘horrifically written fiction’ about him
Earlier, Depp went on hiatus after a much publicised legal battle with his former wife, Amber Heard.

The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star, whose film ‘Jeanne Du Barry’ premiered on the first day of the Cannes Film Festival and received a standing ovation, opened up about being sidelined by Hollywood at the press conference of the film on Wednesday (May 17). The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star revealed that he did feel the film fraternity had abandoned him after he was dropped from various projects.
When asked if he felt that Hollywood had declared an open season against him, the superstar stated, “You'd have to not have a pulse at that point to feel like, 'No, none of this is happening. This is actually just a weird joke." He also revealed that it was disheartening to be removed from projects due to mere allegations.
However, the ‘Charlie & The Chocolate Factory’ star said that he has learned to make peace with the boycott by not thinking about it. “ I don't think about Hollywood. I don't have much further need for Hollywood myself."
He also called out the media for allegedly writing exaggerated pieces about him and spreading misinformation. “With regard to me and my life, the majority of what you've read is fantastically, horrifically written fiction.”
