John Abraham’s fitness trainer reveals how she maintains a trim figure at 57, without crash diets, says she has a popular South Indian dish frequently for breakfast
Saiyaara star Ahaan Pandey’s mother Deanne is a fitness icon who has trained several celebs such as John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Preity Zinta. In an interview, she revealed how she kept fit.

She explained that balancing workout with clean, healthy eating is a must if you don’t want to gain weight. She opts for a healthy breakfast. Lunch is the heaviest meal in her day. Dinner is usually light.
Breakfast: Light & Nutritious
Deanne stated her day begins with having half a litre of water on empty stomach. Her first hot beverage is not conventional tea but a herbal drink prepared from a blend of 20 to 30 herbs sourced from Kerala. For breakfast, she usually opts for idlis, believing they are gentle on digestion and beneficial for overall health. She also includes a handful of almonds, walnuts, and fresh fruits in her morning meal. On some days, she replaces idlis with a bowl of oats topped with fruit or enjoys Greek yogurt sweetened with a little organic honey.She further revealed that she also drinks a cup of Indian tea without adding milk. Throughout the day, she keeps herself hydrated with natural beverages such as coconut water, green tea, and two glasses of lemon water. Carbonated soft drinks are almost entirely absent from her diet, with only an occasional sip on rare occasions. She also shared that she gave up protein shakes more than 13 years ago and avoids consuming processed nutritional powders altogether. Her preference is for fresh, wholesome foods, and she even steers clear of packaged spice mixes, choosing natural ingredients instead.
Lunch: Fully Desi
For lunch she has a bowl of sabji or vegetables, a salad, some dal. She avoids white rice and rotis opting for healthier options such as red rice, black rice or quinoa. She also stated that when craving a drink which is not water, she steers clear of soft drinks and sips on coconut water.
For workout, Deanne said that she focuses on yoga, which she has been practicing for over 20 years.
