The internet went into overdrive after comedian Samay Raina appeared in the latest episode of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show. Joining him in the special occasion of World Laughter Day (May 2) was YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, better known as BeerBiceps and veteran comedian Sunil Pal. The episode marked Samay and Ranveer’s first appearance together after the much-publicized controversy surrounding India's Got Latent, which was eventually taken down. Notably, Sunil’s presence in the Kapil Sharma show added another interesting layer to the segment as the comedian had previously criticised Samay’s comic stint on India’s Got Latent.

As the trio marked their presence on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Samay Raina’s playful digs at Sunil Pal and their on-screen banter quickly grabbed attention online. Now, Sunil, in an interview with Zee Switch, has finally broken his silence on the matter, sharing his perspective on what actually unfolded in the show.

When asked about the instructions laid out before the episode, Sunil Pal revealed that he had initially been informed that Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia would also be part of the show, while he was invited to perform stand-up comedy. Sunil prepared his stint accordingly and arrived on the set, but things took an unexpected turn when, instead of the stand-up segment, the atmosphere leaned more towards roasting and playful banter.

Sunil Pal admitted that he was not mentally prepared for this shift in format. While the veteran comedian did not label it as betrayal, he candidly shared that the experience was far from what he had originally anticipated. Sunil remarked that what he had expected did not happen, but instead, he found himself navigating an entirely different comedic setup than the one he had prepared for.

The unexpected reunion occurred after Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia faced the eye of the storm following a controversial remark by Ranveer last year in February. Social media influencer Apporva Makhija, aka The Rebel Kid, was also embroiled in the controversy. Multiple FIRs were reportedly filed against them, following which Samay removed the show from YouTube.

In the latest Kapil Sharma episode, Samay Raina addressed Sunil Pal’s criticism regarding India’s Got Latent, with his signature humour and jestful remarks. The duo also shared a warm hug on the stage, probably indicating that they have moved past their differences. The Great Indian Kapil Show stars Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda, along with Navjot Singh Sidhu and Archana Puran Singh as permanent guests.
