Jiah Khan's mother moves CBI court, says she has evidence to prove Sooraj Pancholi murdered actress

Deceased Bollywood actress Jiah Khan's mother, Rabia Khan, moved a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Thursday seeking fresh charges to be framed against actor Sooraj Pancholi. She claimed that she has evidence to prove that her daughter's suicide was a murder.

In February, Rabia had moved the Supreme Court after her plea seeking a probe by a Special Investigations Team was rejected by the Bombay High Court. But she had to withdraw her petition after the apex court had refused to intervene in the Bombay High Court's order.

Jiah, who had starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd', was found hanging in her room on June 3, 2013.

Sooraj Pancholi, Jiah's then boyfriend, was arrested and charged with abetment to suicide. Hoever, the charges were dropped after the CBI concluded that Jiah's death was a suicide.

The CBI took over the probe from the Maharashtra police on the Bombay High Court's orders. Rabiya Khan had moved the High Court, alleging that her daughter had been murdered and demanded that the CBI probe the matter.
