Jharkhand farmer wanted to be a wildlife photographer, but now his fashion reels have Bollywood’s attention. How a wardrobe clean-up changed his life

It just takes a simple idea to get famous and Jharkhand farmer Nishant cracked the code early. The 24-year-old, who hails from a small village, Agharma, in Simdega district, wanted to become a wildlife photographer, but a random wardrobe cleanup changed his life for the better. Nishant is not a fashion vlogger, but his fashion reels on Instagram, where he showcases his distinct desi style, are a hit among users as well as Bollywood celebrities.

All about Jharkhand farmer and his family

According to a report by The Hindustan Times, Nishant lives with his parents and 4 elder siblings. He is the youngest member of the family. They earn a living primarily through farming and cultivating crops like rice, ragi, urad, and various seasonal vegetables. Currently, his siblings stay in Ranchi to pursue higher education and job opportunities.

Life wasn’t always easy for Nishant. His father used to repair bicycles as well as farming to support the family, but a brain haemorrhage left one side of his body paralysed. Nishant, who wished to move to the city seeking job opportunities, was hence forced to stay back in his village and look after the farm while continuing his graduation.

From wildlife photographer dream to fashion model

Since childhood, Nishant had a deep fondness for creative pursuits. He enjoyed activities like dancing, football, running, volleyball, and photography. Nishant bought a camera and took up a professional photography course to pursue wildlife photography, while working in housekeeping in Goa. He even opened a small grocery shop in Ranchi with his cousin for financial stability.

Nishant pivoted to fashion one random day. He was cleaning his room when he noticed his wardrobe filled with clothes he had bought with his hard-earned money. That’s when an idea struck him. Nishant styled the clothes himself, pairing them as per trends and decided to shoot videos.

Jharkhand farmer’s viral video

One of his reels that hit 11.4 million views captured Nishant attending to his farm, showcasing her muscular physique. Soon, the clip transitioned into Nishant displaying his slew of fashion-forward styles - loose shirts with baggy pants, formal shirts with jeans and a tie, long coats, casuals with scarves and whatnot.

Nishant shot the video outside his rustic-looking hut, creating a rural aesthetic. His on-fleek model face was a bonus. The clip was quick to grab attention, with Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar commenting, ‘Kya baat hai (Wow, that’s amazing)’ and Anusha Dandekar also giving him a lovely shoutout.
