Lopez and Urban already know each other from their time on American Idol. Lopez returned to the show for its 13th season in 2014. She joined Urban and Harry Connick Jr. on the judging panel.

The speculation is based mainly on the claim that Lopez and Urban have remained in contact after their marriages ended. RadarOnline described the alleged friendship as becoming more personal and suggested the two may have met privately. There is no public statement from Lopez or Urban confirming that they are in a relationship.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's breakup

Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024 after two years of marriage. Court documents listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.
