'Jeena yahan marna yahan' at Ritu Nanda's prayer meet leaves Jaya, Shweta in tears; Big B's emotional eulogy

Amitabh Bachchan (c) joined brothers Randhir, Rajiv (l) and Rishi Kapoor (r) to pay tribute to their sister Ritu Nanda.
The Nandas, Kapoors and Bachchans bid a final farewell to Ritu Nanda at a prayer meet held in Delhi. The daughter of showman Raj Kapoor and wife of the late Escorts patriarch Rajan Nanda, the 76-year-old passed away last week, after battling cancer.
Amitabh Bachchan, whose daughter is married to Nanda's son Nikhil, paid tribute to her in an emotional speech, describing her as "an ideal woman, an ideal sister, an ideal wife and an ideal mother."

Rishi Kapoor, in an eulogy, too remembered his sister, saying that it would've been her 51st wedding anniversary in two weeks, and maybe she decided to spend it with her late husband.

It was an emotional affair for family and friends at the prayer meet, many of whom were left in tears after a soulful rendition of 'Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan' from Nanda's father's 'Mera Naam Joker', by singer Ankit Batra .

In videos shared by Batra on his social media handle, Neetu Kapoor can be seen consoling sister-in-law Reema Jain. Randhir Kapoor too got teary-eyed as he remembered his sister.

Jain's son Aadar also attended the prayer ceremony.
Aadar Jain was spotted in a Burberry muffler over a white kurta at the prayer meet. Mother-daughter duo Jaya and Shweta also got emotional at the prayer meet. Nanda's grand-daughter Navya Naveli sat between Amitabh Bachchan and mum Shweta Bachchan, holding her hand. The Bachchan clan was present in full strength with Abhishek Bachchan sitting in the second row behind his sister at the prayer meet.

Big B, who attended the prayer meet in a Nehru jacket and shawl over a white kurta-pyjama, ad earlier penned a blogpost remembering his ‘samdhi’, and how in a few hours following her prayer meet would be his father, the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan's death anniversary.
"..returning from the ‘chautha’ for our ‘samdhi’ my in-law ; and at midnight a few moments from now, shall be the 18th of January - the death Anniversary of Babu ji .. life moves on .. the flowing river .. fresh flows of water shall come by in our watchful eye..and go past in equal presence..short lived, rapid and followed for a while till its sights, and then await the coming stream of the current next.. (sic)," the 77-year-old wrote.

Kapoors, Bachchans Bid Tearful Goodbye To Ritu Nanda

Ritu Nanda, the daughter of Bollywood showman Raj Kapoor, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday. The 71-year-old, who was married to the late Escorts patriarch Rajan Nanda, had been battling cancer.
Bollywood's Kapoors and Bachchans flew down to Delhi to join the Nandas for her last rites that were held in the city.

Amitabh Bachchan, who had shared the news of Nanda's demise on his blog, saying, "My ‘samdhan’ Ritu Nanda, Shweta’s Mother in Law passed away suddenly at 1.15 Am .. cannot communicate .. travelling", also attended her last rites in the city.
