Jawed Habib submits written apology to NCW, but his official statement says 'act of spitting' never took place
The NCW directed the hairstylist to ensure that such a thing is not repeated.

Last week, a video went viral on social media that purportedly showed Habib spitting on a woman's head while styling her hair. The video was shot on January 3 during the 58-year-old's hair styling seminar in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
In the video, he can be heard saying, "If there is a shortage of water, use saliva." He could also be heard jokingly say that his spit is very effective. His act attracted laughs and claps by the audience present at the workshop.

"There is a recent video from my seminar showing me spitting in the hair, that is currently being circulated on social media, along with insinuations that it was done deliberately to hurt sensibilities. I would like to clarify that the actions were made in jest, as part of a long seminar, to lighten the mood. There was no actual act of spitting that took place," his note read.
"In hindsight, this was not the right thing to do and I wish to apologise to all concerned, as it was never my intention to anyone or any community. Please accept my sincere apologies," he added in his statement.
"The action taken must be apprised to the Commission at the earliest," the NCW post said.
