Janhvi Kapoor reveals how boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya 'took a semester off' in London to support her after Sridevi’s death. Check his education and career

Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya have been linked for several years, although they have largely kept their relationship away from official announcements. The two have often caught fans’ attention with their Instagram pictures and public gestures of appreciation for each other. In an upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, Janhvi opens up about the support Shikhar gave her after the death of her mother, veteran actor Sridevi, in 2018. She also recalls how he returned from London and stayed close to her during that difficult time.

Janhvi Kapoor reveals Shikhar Pahariya left studies to support her

During her appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9 with actor Varun Dhawan, Janhvi spoke about Shikhar’s gesture following Sridevi’s death. She recalled that Shikhar was studying in London at the time but decided to take half a semester off and return to Mumbai.




She further said, "He came to Mumbai, and he used to stay in town with his dad then, and I only found out much later that he moved to his friend’s house in Juhu for a month. Not that I was seeing him every day, but later on I just found out that he was like, ‘No, in case she needs me, I just want to be around."


For the unversed, Sridevi died on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54 in Dubai, where she had attended a family wedding. Authorities confirmed that her death was caused by accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub. Her mortal remains were brought to Mumbai, and her funeral was held on February 28, with family members, film industry colleagues and fans paying their final respects.

Shikhar Pahariya’s education and professional career

Meanwhile, talking about Shikhar Pahariya, he comes from a prominent business family and has an educational background in finance. According to TOI, he studied at Bombay Scottish School and Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai before moving to the UK for higher education.



He later attended Regent’s University London, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in global financial management. His time in London was also the period Janhvi referred to while recalling how he took a break from his studies following Sridevi’s death.

Apart from his education, Shikhar has interests in business and sports. He is associated with his family’s business interests and is also known for his involvement in polo and horse riding. His professional pursuits have placed him in both business and sporting circles.

Shikhar is the son of businessman Sanjay Pahariya and Smruti Sanjay Pahariya. His maternal grandfather is Sushil Kumar Shinde, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. His younger brother, Veer Pahariya, entered the film industry with Sky Force, which stars Akshay Kumar.
