Sridevi's sudden and tragic demise last year left the nation in shock and mourning. But more than a year later, her charm continues to live on.

On the 'Chandni' actress's 56th birth anniversary, social media was flooded with messages remembering the icon.

Her actress-daughter Janhvi Kapoor posted a picture of Sridevi, writing, "Happy Birthday Mumma. I love you" alongside it.

Her post received love from the film fraternity including Priyanka Chopra, Manish Malhotra, Dia Mirza, Rhea Kapoor and Masaba Gupta, who commented with heart emoticons.

Sridevi's producer husband Boney Kapoor said he missed her every minute of his life. In an emotional post on Twitter, the film-maker, wrote, "Happy Birthday Jaan, missing you every minute of my life, keep on guiding us, you will remain with us till eternity. #Sridevi."

Anil Kapoor and wife Sunita also remembered their sister-in-law with heart-warming posts on social media. While Sridevi's 'Mr India' co-star said that though her loss still affects them deeply, the joy she brought into their lives unites them in memory.

"Today is a bittersweet day as we celebrate you on what would have been your 56th Birthday…We feel the sadness of your loss deeply, but remembering your smile and the joy you brought to all our lives unites us in your memory...We miss you everyday #Sridevi!," the actor captioned his post.


Sunita shared a picture along with the actress, saying, "Memories are always special. Sometimes we laugh by remembering the times we cried, and we cry by remembering the days we laughed!!! That’s life. Happy birthday Sri..Miss you so much."

Joining her family in remembering Sridevi was Sanjay Kapoor's wife Maheep, who posted several pictures of them together.

Sridevi, the country's first female superstar, passed away on February 24 in Dubai, where she was staying after attending a family wedding.

Born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, the actress was posthumously awarded the National Award for her performance in 'Mom', last year.
