Jaipur-based Trunks Company; a luxury statement for the rich and famous
The company has been relying on word of mouth as their marketing strategy so far, which, Priyank says, has worked very well for them.

Trunks Company was established by the brothers and French designer Livio Delesgues about three years ago. “There was a time when people used to travel by ship and they would use trunks. Now, the idea of a trunk has become obsolete,” says Paritosh, who along with his brother was a leather exporter for about 10 years.
Ten months ago, Trunks Company began offering its bespoke trunks service. “These trunks not only serve as storage outlets, but can also be used as lifestyle pieces,” says Paritosh. The brothers initially ran the business only from Jaipur. Recently, they launched the Trunks Company Lounge at Mumbai-based popular handcraft and vintage store The Big Door. “Most of our business comes from Mumbaibased industrialists, besides the royal families of India and abroad,” says Paritosh.
The company has been relying on word of mouth as their marketing strategy so far, which, Priyank says, has worked very well for them. One of Trunks Company’s displays at a five star hotel in Jaipur caught the eye of the royal family of Qatar, who then commissioned eight trunks for themselves.
Buyers can customise the trunks to their liking barring one demand. “We won’t use artificial leather. If we don’t maintain our standards from the beginning, it will be di f ficult for us to deal with customers later,” says Priyank. Whi le business is certainly going well for now, the brothers are hoping that by the end of this year, they can cross a total revenue of `4 crore and open another lounge in Delhi. Clearly, trunks are Paritosh and Priyank’s true calling.
