The countdown has begun for the release of Rajinikanth starrer 'Jailer' on August 10. While Fans are eagerly waiting for it, Dhanush, a big Rajinikanth fan himself, couldn't contain his excitement for the film on Monday.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the 40-year-old actor wrote, "It’s JAILER week," along with some emojis.

The tweet gained a lot of attention along with several thousand likes and retweets on the micro-blogging platform.



Dhanush has been a long-time fan of Rajinikanth. In November 2004, he married the superstar's daughter Aishwarya. However, after 18 years of marriage, the couple divorced for reasons undisclosed by them.

They remain friends as well as co-parents to their two kids, Yatra and Linga.

Meanwhile, the buzz surrounding 'Jailer' has captivated not just die-hard fans but also workplaces in Rajinikanth's home state. Some offices in Chennai and Bengaluru have declared a day off on the film’s release day.

'Jailer', directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is set to mark Rajinikanth's return to the big screen after a hiatus of nearly two years.

Riding high on the anticipation, 'Jailer' has already showcased its potential with captivating previews, including a stunning display in the iconic Times Square, New York City.

'Jailer' is expected to offer a blend of action and emotion, with Rajinikanth portraying the role of 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, a retired police officer.

The film boasts of a stellar ensemble cast, including Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, and a special cameo appearance by Malayalam actor Mohanlal.
