Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi issues fresh threat to Salman Khan, warns of consequences if actor doesn't apologise

Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently cooling his heels in the Bathinda Central Jail for allegedly orchestrating the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, has stoked controversy for issuing a' threat' to actor Salman Khan. The threat to the actor, which was issued via an interview on Hindi news channel ABP, warned of consequences if the actor didn't offer an apology to the Bishnoi community over the killing of the black buck.

Even as the threat drama played out, the Bathinda Jail SP, ND Negi, denied any knowledge of the TV programme being recorded within the jail premises. He claimed that Bishnoi was presently confined in the high-security Bathinda Central Jail.

This 'renewed threat' to the 57-year-old actor comes months after the Mumbai Police had filed an FIR against an unknown person for sending a threatening letter to Khan and his father-lyricist Salim Khan.


In an interview with ABP news, Lawrence said that the 57-year-old actor had humiliated his community by killing a blackbuck.

"There is anger in our society for Salman Khan. He humiliated my society. A case was filed against him but he did not apologise. If he does not tender an apology, be ready to face the consequences. I will not depend on anyone else," he told the news channel.

"There has been anger in my mind for him since childhood. Will break his ego sooner or later. He should come to our deity's temple and apologise. If our society forgives, then I will not say anything," he added.

Last year, Khan had received a threatening letter warning him that the actor will suffer a similar fate as singer Moosewala, who was shot dead in Mansa district of Punjab on May 29. It was alleged that Lawrence was the one who had sent the threatening letter to Khan, however, he denied his involvement.

Following this, the actor was reportedly provided a Y+ security cover by the Maharashtra government in November, which gives four armed security personnel on his person at all times.

Same year in August, the Mumbai Police had issued a firearm licence to the actor for self-protection.
