Jackie Shroff’s daughter Krishna reveals mother Ayesha’s biggest sacrifice: ‘She left everything and stayed in a chawl with my dad’

Jackie and Ayesha Shroff have been married for almost four decades and the latter have been a constant throughout the highs and lows of the actor’s career. Recently, in the latest episode of The 50, their daughter Krishna opened up about her mother’s sacrifices.

She recalled how her mother left behind a life of prosperity to live with Jackie in a chawl during the early days of their relationship.

“My mom came from a very good household; her parents were doing very well. Then she married my father, who was living in a chawl with his mom and dad. She left everything her mother built, and stayed in the chawl with my dad and his parents, even after dad’s first movie, Hero,” she revealed.


Speaking about their journey, Krishna explained that her parents eventually purchasing their first home together after marriage. She emphasized that her mother had always shown remarkable understanding and patience through every stage of their lives. According to Krishna, Ayesha has always been the type of person who places her children’s joy and family’s comfort before her personal needs.

Krishna expressed deep admiration for that quality, describing motherhood as one of the most generous and self-giving roles a person can undertake. In her view, raising children requires constant sacrifice, empathy, and unconditional love, qualities she believes her mother embodies completely.

Early Struggles in Jackie Shroff’s Life

Krishna’s remarks also revisited the humble beginnings of her father, Bollywood star Jackie Shroff. Before achieving fame and success in the film industry, Jackie spent part of his early life living in a chawl in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Krishna herself has been gaining attention for her performance on the competitive reality show The 50. Her determination and resilience throughout the competition have made her one of the standout participants this season.

Her efforts paid off when she secured a spot among the show’s finalists. Alongside her in the final stage are several notable contestants, including fitness influencer Rajat Dalal, reality television personality Shiv Thakare, social media creator Immortal Kaka, and digital star Faisal Shaikh.
