NEW DELHI: It's official! Jack Dorsey has decided to move to Africa for three-six months next year.

The Twitter CEO, who was exploring Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa in the continent, said that he was sad that his tour came to an end.

In his tweet on Wednesday, he said that 'Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!)'. While the top boss isn't sure where he plans to move in the continent, he said he will 'be living there for 3-6 months mid-2020'. "Grateful I was able to experience a small part," he ended his post.

The 43-year-old CEO, who is known for his eccentric lifestyle, also took part in a 10-day Vipassana meditation in South Aftrica. Located in 7.5 hectares of land that is abundant with trees and water, the centre rests amid a mountain range that has its impressive peak Audenberg as the rear view of the property.

Sharing a picture of Africa's first Vipassana centre - Dhamma Pataka, Dorsey said that this continues to be the toughest and best thing he does for himself. "Grateful for all those who enable me to make time for it," he concluded in another post.

According to Dorsey, ice-cold bath in the morning "unlocks" his mind and he can take on any challenge while a 15-minute "sauna" in the evening, followed by another three-minute ice-bath, relaxes him.

On his birthday on November 19 last year after visiting India, Dorsey did a 10-day silent meditation in Myanmar.

"For my birthday this year, I did a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation, this time in Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar. We went into silence on the night of my birthday, the 19th," he tweeted.

In Myanmar, the Twitter boss lived in a single room. "During the 10 days: no devices, reading, writing, physical exercise, music, intoxicants, meat, talking, or even eye contact with others," he tweeted.

Mastodon started popping up on timelines after Twitter suspended Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Hegde’s account twice. What followed was outrage against what many thought was Twitter’s high-handedness when dealing with issues like hate speech.

Many users migrated, and batted for Mastodon's stronger anti-abuse systems. This led to the social network's name trending on Twitter as users announced their new accounts. A number of users joined a 24-hour boycott of Twitter from Nov. 6 noon. In India, Twitter has more than 30 million users.
