It's splitsville for Naga Chaitanya & Samantha Ruth Prabhu: Ex-boyfriend Siddharth shares cryptic post; Kangana reacts

The Internet's favourite star couple and Tollywood actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya called it quits after almost four years of marriage.

On Saturday, the soon-to-be-divorced couple, popularly known as Chay-Sam, announced their separation on their respective social media handles.

The statement said that the duo will continue to stay friends as they have known each other for over a decade, but will part ways to pursue their own paths. "We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us," the same statements read.

They asked their fans, well-wishers and the media for support during their "difficult time", while also appealing for privacy so that they can "move on".
Soon after the announcement, Chaitanya's father and veteran South star Akkineni Nagarjuna took to Twitter to share a sweet note.

With a parting note, the superstar said that the divorce between between Sam and Chay is very "unfortunate".

"What happens between a wife and husband is very personal. Sam and Chay are both dear to me. My family will always cherish the moments spent with Sam and she will always be dear to us. May God bless them both," he wrote.


Few hours after Chay-Sam's announcement, the 34-year-old 'The Family Man 2' star's former boyfriend and South actor Siddharth shared a cryptic note on the micro-blogging site.

In his post, the 'Rang De Basanti' star said that he learnt one of first lessons from a teacher in school, "Cheaters never prosper."

According to rumours, Siddharth-Samantha started dating in 2013 for two-and-a-half years, but never confirmed their relationship.

However, the 42-year-old actor didn't mention the couple, but this social media post didn't go down well with the users.


Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also reacted to the development without naming either, and claimed that trouble in their relationship began after the 34-year-old actor came in "contact with a Bollywood superstar."

She further went on to say that this "Bollywood divorce expert has ruined many women and children's lives," and is now the actor's guiding light and agony aunt.

Despite the amicable separation, the couple's wedding pictures, and anniversary and birthday wish posts continue to stay on their respective social media handles.

Chay-Sam met on the sets of Gautham Menon's iconic 2010 Telugu film 'Ye Maaya Chesave', and started dating soon after. After dating for eight years, they got engaged in January 2017 and tied the knot in October the same year in Goa.

As performers, the couple had featured together in three more films -, 'Manam', 'Autonagar Surya' and 'Majili'.

The buzz about the marriage disintegrating had intensified last month after Samantha dropped 'Akkineni' from her name on her Twitter account, but neither addressed the rumours head-on.
