It's official! At 79, Mick Jagger gets engaged to former ballerina Melanie Hamrick

Love doesn’t come with an age limit.

Rock icon Mick Jagger is reportedly engaged at 79!

According to a Mirror report, the rockstar is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Melanie Hamrick. Hamrick is 36.


Sources close to the couple told the British tabloid, that the ex-ballerina recently admitted that she was indeed engaged during a recent trip in New York. “Melanie was at the American Ballet Theatre and she was telling her friends she was engaged to Mick. She was very clear her ring is an ­engagement ring and she is now his fiancée. Her family also very much understand them to be engaged and are thrilled,” they divulged.

According to reports, the ring is a large, stunning diamond ring that comes encrusted in sapphires. In an interview with People, Hamrick described it as an “engagement ring.”

“I mean, I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes,” she was quoted as saying to the magazine.

This will be the ‘She’s A Rainbow’ hitmakers' third engagement. Although the rockstar was only married once- to Bianca Perez Mora Macias from 1971 to 1978, he was also once engaged to model Jerry Hall. Although the couple had an intimate marriage ceremony in Bali (Indonesia) in 1990, it was later declared void.

Who Is Melanie Hamrick?

Hamrick is an American choreographer-author and former ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre. She met Jagger in 2014 while in Japan. Together, they have a child Devereaux Octavian Basil, aged six. She made her debut as an author in 2023, with the book ‘First Position’. The book was published by Penguin Random House. Hamrick previously dated former dancer Jose Manuel Carrano. Jagger was previously linked to the late model-fashion designer L’Wren Scott, who committed suicide in 2014.
