'Brahmastra' will hit the big screens on September 9.
The 'Brahmastra' team has finally completed shooting for the first part of the trilogy.
Director Ayan Mukerji took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that he has completed shooting for his much-awaited fantasy adventure. The last shooting schedule for the 'Brahmastra' cast and crew was Varanasi.
Mukerji had announced 'Brahmastra' in 2014, and wanted to release the film in 2016. But things didn't go as planned and the project was delayed. The film's principal photography began in 2018.
Alongside pictures from the Varanasi-shoot, the 'Wake Up Sid' director recalled that he had started shooting for the film five years ago. He said that it has been a challenging and once-in-a-lifetime journey.
The 38-year-old film-maker also visited the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi with the lead stars of the film and his friends - Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
"Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of ‘Part One: Shiva’ in Varanasi - a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too at the most-sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blessings," he wrote.

'Brahmastra' stars Kapoor as Shiva (a man with supernatural powers), Bhatt as his love interest Isha and Bachchan as Guruji. The first film will mark the beginning of a new original cinematic universe called the Astraverse, the makers had said.
