It is about what you feel when you see it: Steve Odell, Asia Pacific MD, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings
For Steve Odell, art is all about what you feel when you see it. And when it comes to his collections at home, it’s more about the visual than the value. The Asia Pacific MD of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, counts among his favourites, Beryl Cook— an English artist best known for her instantly recognisable paintings featuring day-to-day scenes.

Odell tells ETPanache, “I’ve got quite a collection of Beryl Cook prints and watercolours. I love the weird characterisation of people — they are kind of abstract. A favourite of mine is called ‘Bus Stop’, which has a few women getting into a bus — but it’s more than that.”

Odell adds, “I also have a favourite Filipino artist called Ramon Diaz. He does a lot of art around Koi, which I enjoy. I have a lot of Aboriginal art in my home too.”

So, how does he choose art for his home? “It is about what you feel when you see it.. If I walk into a gallery and see something I like, that’s it for me. It’s all about colour. I think these kind of paintings bring a lot to a home.”
