Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor were the latest guests on Koffee With Karan 9. The celebrity chat show, hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, premiered for its final season on October 14 on JioHotstar. Varun and Janhvi have already worked together in the 2023 romantic drama Bawaal. The duo brought fresh energy and spunk in the third episode with their light-hearted camaraderie and candid banter. Varun, who was attending the show for the first time as a dad, revealed how his life changed after the birth of his daughter Lara.

Varun Dhawan’s mornings as a father

Varun Dhawan and his wife Natasha Dalal welcomed Lara, 2, on June 3, 2024. So when Karan Johar asked Varun how things were different as a father, the Student of the Year actor had an honest answer.

‘A lot has changed,’ admitted Varun, adding that previously he used to have a lot of time to himself in the morning. But now, his mornings are filled with chasing after Lara. ‘I have my 2-year-old running, jumping, trying to go on a slide the wrong way. So me and Natasha are like almost fielders,’ shared Varun.

Varun Dhawan’s daughter is a Michael Jackson fan

The 39-year-old said that despite his changed morning routine, he finds the experience to be quite fun. As per Varun, there was no greater joy than watching the joy and purity of a child. However, the actor confessed that he does get into playful flights with his toddler over music.

Varun disclosed that Lara is a fan of Michael Jackson and her favourite song is Beat It. ‘She wants to hear Beat It like 68 times. And I am like, Lara, can we play something else?’ said Varun. When KJo urged Varun to let Lara listen to whatever music she likes, he clarified, ‘No. I want to tell her that Michael Jackson has a bigger career than Beat It.’

Varun Dhawan’s last film

Varun Dhawan was last seen in director Anurag Singh’s Border 2. The war drama, also starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahaan Shetty in key roles, premiered in the theatres on January 26.
