Speaking in an interview, as reported by Forbes, Tamannaah Bhatia shared her simple philosophy for success. According to her, the best way to excel at something is to fall in love with it. Reflecting on her relationship with cinema, she said that it happened to her more than 20 years ago when she became completely captivated by movies. Describing the experience as a long-standing "love affair," she explained that her connection with acting has remained strong ever since.
Her love for performance since childhood
The actor admitted that her interest in performing started early. She recalled being the child at social gatherings who always wanted to perform alone. Looking back, she described herself as being "obsessed with performance" and said acting had fascinated her since childhood.Yet the dream seemed distant. Coming from a Sindhi business family in Mumbai, Tamannaah had no film industry background or connections. She was also very young when she first started considering a career in acting.
Her film career
Determined to pursue her goal, she enrolled in an acting workshop at Mumbai's Prithvi Theatre. She spent a year learning and participating in stage performances. By the age of 15, her efforts paid off when she landed her first Hindi film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, released in 2005.Around the same time, she was preparing for her school board examinations, and Tamannaah also agreed to make her debut in South Indian cinema. Her entry into Telugu cinema came with Sree in 2005, followed by her Tamil debut in Kedi in 2006. Recognition arrived with Happy Days and Kalloori, both of which established her as a promising young actor.
Over the years, Tamannaah built a successful career across Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. She earned praise for films including 100% Love, Ayan, Paiyaa, Racha and Oopiri. Her performances brought her several honours, including Santosham Film Awards, SIIMA Awards and the Kalaimamani Award.
Career breakthrough
A major turning point came in 2015 with Baahubali: The Beginning, where she played the warrior Avanthika opposite Prabhas. The film became one of the biggest successes in Indian cinema and significantly expanded her opportunities. She later reprised the role in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever.More recently, Tamannaah has continued to explore diverse projects across films and streaming platforms. Her performances in Jee Karda, Lust Stories 2, Aakhri Sach and Aranmanai 4 received attention from audiences and critics alike. In 2025, she appeared in Odela 2 and the Amazon Prime series Do You Wanna Partner, while also preparing for upcoming projects including O' Romeo, Ranger, IPS Maria, Vvan and Baahubali: The Epic.
