ChocAffaires is the oldest chocolate shop in Mumbai
At the heart of the city of dreams, lies an almost five-decades-old chocolate shop, which, to this day, is known for its impeccably delicious, handcrafted masterpieces tasting of rich chocolate! A video of Mumbai’s first chocolatier ChocAffaires was recently shared by Instagram user Rahil Mohile and went viral. Instagram users were captivated at the sight of tempting truffles, pista kunafa and other delicacies.

A Look At Their 48-Year-Old Journey

It all began with one woman and her passion for chocolates - Meher Pinto. At a time when chocolates were a rarity in India, Meher engineered her own sweet creations - chocolate truffles, silky marzipan, almond rocks, which were served in glittering gold boxes.

ChocAffaires came into existence in 1978, and since then, Meher and her team has dedicated themselves to treating chocolate lovers to handcrafted chocolates.

Over the decades, ChocAffaires has woven itself into the fabric of Indian celebrations. Its handcrafted chocolates have become a favored indulgence during Diwali, a cherished present at weddings, and a timeless addition to countless special occasions. Renowned for its elegance and nostalgic appeal, the brand has earned a place in the hearts of generations of chocolate lovers.

Today, Meher continues this journey alongside her daughter, Ghazala, transforming ChocAffaires into a remarkable mother-daughter enterprise. Together, they carry forward a rich heritage of artisanal chocolate-making, preserving the essence that has distinguished the brand for years. Committed to creating handcrafted chocolates with care and authenticity, they remain dedicated to the founding principles that shaped ChocAffaires—exceptional quality, meticulous craftsmanship, and a deep respect for tradition. Their partnership ensures that the brand’s legacy continues to thrive while staying rooted in its proudly Indian identity.

Some of their masterpieces include: Marzipan Bar, pistachio kunefe truffles, choco almond fudge, golden caramel. They operate two outlets in Mumbai—one located in Colaba and the other at Kemps Corner.
