Pillars of strength: These pillars were part of an old Portuguese family home in Goa. The motifs are very unique. They’re attached to the wall in my office because they’re very weak, can’t stand by themselves and are extremely tough to restore.

Support team: The sculptures used as book ends here are by artist Thota Vaikuntam. They are a recent acquisition.

Sit on it: This is from an old Parsi house that was auctioned in Mumbai. The top of the table has very colonial motifs that instantly take you back to a period gone by.

Special piece: It was originally carved from a single piece of stone and dates many decades back. I got it at an auction and put it on a wooden base to be kept in my office.
