Prolonged sitting is proving to be a killer — it is turning you into a 9-to-5 (or more) couch potato and sabotaging your health. Drop the 'no-time-to-exercise' excuse now and get moving as you work.

Here are some ways you can do it:

Be a wanderer

Take a walk to catch up with coworkers and instead of dialling extensions, just walk to pass the message on.

Take the stairs at least two times a day; if you want a harder workout, do this fi ve-seven times.

Move and shake

Release stress with some seatdancing.

Stretch both arms over your head and reach for the sky while sitting.
