Ever wondered what a regular workday costs for a young professional living abroad? A content creator based in Melbourne has offered a transparent look into her daily spending, and the numbers are turning heads. From a simple breakfast to a relaxed evening out, her one-day expense breakdown adds up to nearly Rs 8,000. For many in India, that figure feels steep for just 24 hours, making her video both relatable and eye-opening at the same time.

Sindhu Reddy, a working professional in Australia, recently shared a glimpse into her everyday expenses as a single corporate employee living in Melbourne. In her video, she walks viewers through a typical work-from-office day, detailing each purchase from morning to night.

She began her day with a straightforward breakfast of egg toast and coffee, which cost around $7, roughly Rs 500. For lunch, she opted for a high-protein chicken wrap paired with a Diet Coke, spending about $10 (Rs 650 approx). After work, she stopped by a store to pick up groceries, where the bill came to approximately $50 (Rs 3,000 approx). The day did not end there. In the evening, she headed out to a Mexican bar for dinner, enjoying Mexican food and mocktails. That outing cost her another $50.

By the time she tallied everything, her total spending for the day stood at around $130, which converts to roughly Rs 8,000. Through her candid breakdown, Sindhu offered viewers a snapshot of everyday living costs in Melbourne, sparking curiosity about how lifestyle choices and location shape personal budgets.

Internet reacts

Viewers shared mixed reactions to Sindhu Reddy’s daily expense breakdown. Some questioned whether the spending represented a typical day, noting that long-term Melbourne residents can save while still eating healthily and that certain days, like Fridays, may be more expensive. Others expressed that such a lifestyle isn’t sustainable on a daily basis. Several pointed out that comparing costs in Indian rupees can be misleading, as $130 in Australia doesn’t equate to the same value in India. A few even cautioned against spending recklessly, urging responsible money management.
