Irumudi OTT release and platform update: When and where to stream Ravi Teja's Telugu action movie after its theatrical run

Ravi Teja is back, and that is one of the key takeaways from the audience response to his latest film, Irumudi. The Telugu action drama arrived in theatres on August 21, 2026, and has received positive reactions from both audiences and critics alike. With the film continuing its theatrical run, fans who are already looking forward to watching it again at home are also keen to know when it will make its digital debut.

Streaming details of Irumudi

If reports are to be believed, Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights to Irumudi, according to Esquire India. Neither Netflix nor the makers have officially announced when Irumudi will be available to stream online.

For now, Netflix is reportedly the platform that has secured the digital rights to Irumudi. However, viewers will have to wait for an official announcement regarding the OTT premiere date.


The film's theatrical performance is likely to play a role in deciding when it moves to streaming. Most major Telugu releases typically spend several weeks in theatres before making their way to an OTT platform. Based on the commonly followed four-to-eight-week theatrical window, some industry reports have speculated that Irumudi could begin streaming around the middle or latter part of September.

There is also a possibility that the digital release could be pushed into October if the film continues to attract audiences in theatres. An official confirmation is still awaited.

Irumudi box office: Film nears Rs 200 crore worldwide

Irumudi has maintained a strong run at the box office since its release. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 92.15 crore in net collections in India during its first week.

The film continued to add to its total during the second week. By Day 13, Irumudi had reportedly collected Rs 146.15 crore in India net. Its India gross collection stood at approximately ₹169.80 crore at that point.

On Day 13, the film earned around Rs 4.80 crore in India gross across its different versions. The Telugu version contributed approximately Rs 4.09 crore, while the Tamil version added around ₹1 lakh. The Telugu release was screened across 2,588 shows, compared with 34 shows for the Tamil version.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 26.42% for its Telugu version on the same day. Morning shows registered 17.38% occupancy, while afternoon screenings reached 27.08%. Evening shows recorded 30.38%, with night shows performing slightly better at 30.85%.

However, Day 13 saw a decline compared with the previous day. The film had earned around Rs 5.90 crore in India net on its second Tuesday, while the reported ₹4.10 crore net collection on Wednesday represented a drop of approximately 30.5%.

The Telugu-speaking states continued to account for a significant portion of the film's earnings. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed approximately Rs 4.25 crore in gross collections on Day 13. Karnataka added around Rs 40 lakh, while Tamil Nadu contributed about Rs 5 lakh. Other parts of India accounted for approximately Rs 10 lakh.

Overseas markets have also contributed to the film's overall performance. Irumudi reportedly earned around Rs 21.80 crore in overseas gross collections, taking its worldwide gross to approximately Rs 191.60 crore.
