iPhone 14 Pro models may get costlier, new report reveals Apple's pricing plans

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is gearing up for the launch of its premium smartphone line-up the iPhone 14 series. As if the ongoing strife between China and Taiwan was not adding to the woes of Apple fans, a new report seems to be hinting at a probable price rise on the iPhone 14 Pro Models.

Reportedly, the tech company is planning to increase the prices of the iPhone Pro models. The development came to light after noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo took to his Twitter account to make the claim. In his tweet, he mentioned that the average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 Series is set to increase by 15 per cent from USD 1,000 to USD 1,050 owing to a higher shipment proportion.
Kuo has not revealed the exact pricing for the iPhone 14 Pro models. Presently, in the US the iPhone 13 Pro starts at USD 999 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max at USD 1,099. According to MacRumors, if there were to be a 10 per cent increment in prices the iPhone 14 Pro could start at USD 1,099 and the iPhone Pro Max at USD 1,199. While these reports are largely speculations, there has been no official confirmation from Apple.


Even though the official launch date has not been announced, the iPhone 14 series is rumoured to be launched on September 6. The distinct features in the iPhone 14 line-up include the powerful A16 Bionic chip, 48MP rear camera lens, 8K video recording support, and most importantly the pill-shaped cutout and hole in place of the notch. These features are based on leaks and rumours.
