Investors unwind! Saif Partners host a founders' retreat in Goa

All work and no play makes founders a dull lot. That's why a weekend retreat in the land of sun, sand and sea to unwind is just what the investors ordered. Last weekend, private equity firm Saif partners hosted a founders retreat in Goa.

In attendance were founders of startups that Saif has invested in, select industry leaders invited as special guests and of course, the top brass of the PE firm. Vijay Shekhar Sharma of Paytm, Deep Kalra of Makemytrip, Archit Gupta of Cleartax mingled with top executives like Rajan Anandan of Google and Amit Jain of Uber.

The days were devoted to panel discussions for knowledge exchange and the nights, for networking over a few cocktails. As per a founder who was present at the retreat, the weekend is kept low on formal, structured talks and panels. The idea is to connect with members of the community. After all, the startup founder's life is a rollercoaster ride and when help is needed, those with similar life experiences are well-suited to lend a sympathetic ear or share a wise word.
