A good watch is an investment. You can pass it on from generation to generation. But, like all precious things, it requires care to function to its optimum capacity. Ali Kochra CEO TimeKeepers , who currently owns seven watches, shares his tips on how to take care of a watch so that you can cherish it for years to come and what trend to watch out for:

- An after sale service is a must. Earlier, not many people in India were aware of this but now it is quite common.

- A watch checkup is ideally done in a year's time since you have purchased the watch.

- Seasons change, the monsoon etc, you need to get your watch checked ideally after every change. Don't wait for a problem to arise.

- The best way to store your watch is to have a watch winder. It is the best way to take of them.

- I think this year, complications will be big. Even skeleton watches will be quite trendy.
