Jaipuria, along with five friends, has formed an investment fund which is looking to invest in start-ups. The group hopes to understand how startups arrive at valuations and accordingly increase their funds.
Currently, the heir to the Delhi-based company, which recently went public, says that the fund corpus set up earlier this year, stands at Rs 3 crore. “Since all of us have large businesses, we are doing this on a small scale. My main focus is on Varun Beverages for the next couple of years. However, opportunities in startups are huge,” he said. Last we heard, the fund has already invested in one startup, and is in talks with a few others.
