While there is a list of tried and tested décor statements that are re-created every year to brighten up your home during Diwali, you can uplift the mood of your interiors by making the space more lived-in and young rather than going over the top with decorations.

When dressing up your interiors for the festive season, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

- An easy way-out is to brighten the space with casually strewn cushions, carved candles, decorative pieces drenched in pastels and bright colours and a lot of florals.

- Don't stick to the stereotypical Diwali décor, instead add to the already present elements with flowers, motifs, and more.

- Fill up empty spaces with accent furniture pieces will make that a statement.

- Do not underestimate the simplicity of a breathable space. Avoid adding too much noise to open spaces by incorporating too many elements to it.
