Pregnancy is said to be one of the most beautiful experiences a woman can have. The anticipation of your baby’s arrival and the joy of holding your little one in your arms for the first time is an inexplicable feeling for many mothers. But childbirth is no small feat, as it comes with multiple health challenges, especially enduring intense labour pain. But Bengaluru woman and content creator, Myra Sharma, chose to embrace the agony of labour pain in her own, unique way instead of treating pregnancy like a ‘disease’.

Bengaluru woman applies lipstick during labour pain

Myra Sharma recently shared a video on Instagram, which showed her applying lipstick during labour pain. Her unusual manner of stepping into motherhood has now caught the attention of the internet.

Explaining the reason behind putting on lipstick, Myra revealed that she did not wish to scream or lie down like a patient. Instead, she wanted to distract herself and divert her mind from the pain. ‘Pregnancy is not a disease,’ she claimed, adding that it was her second pregnancy.

Bengaluru woman’s powerful motherhood message

Myra added that since she was already a mother, she had already gone through the experience once. So this time, she wanted to enjoy every bit of her journey. ‘My pregnancy era ends here, forever, in this lifetime,’ wrote Myra, adding that labour pain comes and goes in waves and isn’t constant. So, she did not believe in letting the pain take over and give up on looking her best during the challenging moments.

‘Moreover, I love documenting my life, and I like to look presentable whenever I can, even during challenging moments. I have a high pain tolerance, having undergone multiple surgeries in the past,’ were Myra’s final words before she added that every mother is different and their pregnancy journeys are also varied. Myra’s thoughts come with a powerful message: Every woman has the right to celebrate their motherhood, in whichever way feels right to her.
