Inspired by fashion: Jean Marc Pontroué credits John Galliano and late Alexander McQueen for knowledge

You may think that intense creativity and business don’t go hand-in-hand. But for sharp dresser Jean Marc Pontroué, CEO of Officine Panerai, it is two sides of the same coin. He credits his time working in fashion in Paris for teaching him about it. And who taught him the most about blending the two? Fashion legends John Galliano and the late Alexander McQueen, with whom he worked during the late 1990s.

Pontroué tells ETPanache, “It is very interesting working with people who don’t think like you and don’t see the world the same way as you, like Galliano and McQueen. They are so creative: you see a table, and they see something else. It’s a different world.” And it looks like it still is for Pontroué, who says he’s always on the move. But he has the perfect way to utilise his travel time creatively.



“I make sure to keep my iPad close to me. My computer has all my work related items and my iPad has my books, movies and other personal and fun use. It ’s never far from my side.”
