Insidious: Out of the Further OTT release details: When and where to watch the latest instalment of the horror franchise

Insidious: Out of the Further has finally arrived, taking the horror franchise back into the terrifying world of The Further with a new family and a new supernatural threat. The sixth instalment has opened in cinemas with Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea and Lin Shaye among the cast, and fans who prefer watching horror from home are already wondering when the latest chapter will make its way to a streaming platform.

The new movie is the latest addition to the franchise that began with Insidious in 2010. This time, the story moves away from the Lambert family and follows Gemma, a young mother whose connection to The Further turns out to be more dangerous than she could have imagined.

Insidious: Out of the Further is not available on OTT yet. The film had its theatrical release in India on August 21, 2026, and is currently playing in cinemas.


There is also no confirmed Indian streaming date or platform at the moment. Sony Pictures has released the movie as a theatrical-first title, so viewers waiting for Insidious 6 on Netflix, Prime Video or another streaming service will have to wait for an official announcement.

A specific digital rental or purchase date has also not been confirmed. The movie is expected to get a home entertainment release before eventually arriving on a subscription streaming service, but the exact schedule has not been announced.

For now, cinemas are the only confirmed option for watching the sixth Insidious movie. The film was released in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, giving audiences multiple language options for its theatrical run.

The eventual OTT platform for India has not been announced. Internationally, the streaming plans are expected to depend on Sony Pictures' existing distribution arrangements.

In the US, the movie is expected to eventually stream on Netflix under Sony Pictures' existing Pay-1 agreement, although Netflix has not announced a release date for the film. Gemma's ability comes with an even more frightening consequence. She can bring things from The Further back into the real world. When the entities in that realm discover what she can do, they begin to see the living world as a place they can enter and control.

That makes Gemma's ability both a possible way to understand the supernatural world and a major danger to her family.

Who stars in Insidious: Out of the Further?

Amelia Eve plays Gemma, with Brandon Perea and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also appearing in key roles. Lin Shaye returns as Elise Rainier, one of the most recognisable characters from the franchise.

Jacob Chase has directed the film and co-written it with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The movie is based on characters created by Leigh Whannell. Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell are among its producers, while Joseph Bishara has returned to provide the music.
