The latest round of speculation began after Netflix India shared a collaborative social media post with Samay Raina. The image featured Raina’s bodyguard standing in front of red curtains with a traditional nimbu-mirchi hanging from his pocket. The post quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom viewed it as a hint towards an upcoming announcement.
Adding to the mystery was the caption: “Drop in the comments pls, we’re gonna need it.”
Although the post did not directly mention India’s Got Latent, viewers immediately linked it to the show's return. The comments section was flooded with lemon and chilli emojis as fans tried to decode the message and express support for the comedian.
Fans Excited But Concerned About Changes
The possibility of the show moving to a major streaming platform generated mixed reactions. While many viewers welcomed the idea of a larger platform, others worried that the show's raw and unfiltered style could be affected.One user wrote, “Just don’t take away the core, just don’t take away the core.” Another commented, “The riskiest bid of @netflix_in But also can turn into the best one.”

Reports Suggest Netflix Deal Is In Place
According to a report by India Today, India’s Got Latent is expected to return next month and will reportedly stream on Netflix while continuing to release episodes on Samay Raina’s YouTube channel.The report cited sources claiming that the upcoming season is already in production. It also suggested that Raina is working on a special Netflix-exclusive episode that will not be available on YouTube. Details regarding the format, guests and release schedule have not been revealed so far.
The same report further stated that actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari may appear on the show to promote their upcoming film Alpha.
Samay Raina Had Already Confirmed Season 2
The comedian had previously announced that India’s Got Latent would return for a second season. He first spoke about the show's future during his stand-up special Still Alive, where he indicated that the journey was far from over.In April, Raina also shared an Instagram Story confirming that Season 2 was happening and even posted a registration link for people interested in joining the live audience. Later, during an Instagram Ask Me Anything session, he reiterated that he planned to begin work on the new season after taking a short break.
Interestingly, before the Netflix collaboration post surfaced, Raina had shared an Instagram Story featuring a poll asking followers to choose between “Netflix” and “Amazon Prime,” further fuelling speculation about a streaming partnership.
The return of India’s Got Latent would mark a significant comeback for the show. Earlier this year, it became embroiled in controversy following remarks made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode. The backlash led to legal scrutiny and several episodes being removed from public platforms, leaving the future of the show uncertain.
Despite the setback, Raina consistently maintained that the show would return.
