Champions Trophy debacle, but Hardik Pandya wants no pity

India’s loss to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final still hurts some fans. The clumsy run-out of Hardik Pandya is especially hard to forget. The spunky 23-year-old was the only Indian putting up some fight when Ravindra Jadeja’s poor judgment cost him his wicket. But the last thing Pandya wants is pity.

In a recent interview, Pandya said that he and his brother Krunal decided a long time ago that they would never seek sympathy. “Our motto is to be strong in good times and bad,” Pandya said. “We don’t want anyone’s sympathy.” But we assume, he would like his partners at the crease to understand running between wickets.
