Indians unhappy with Malala Yousafzai's tweets about Kashmir, slam activist for spreading 'Pakistani agenda'

Through a series of tweets, Malala revealed that some Kashmiris had reached out to her and shared their stories.
A day after Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai expressed concern for Kashmiri residents and girls who are 'too scared to leave their homes', Indian Twitter had some questions for the Pakistani activist.
Through a series of tweets, she revealed that some Kashmiris had reached out to her and shared their stories. Yousafzai then sought help from the United Nations General Assembly to 'work towards peace in Kashmir', and help children get back to school. Her statements, deemed hypocritical by Indians, received backlash for being more of a 'Pakistani agenda' that did not care about other countries where Muslims face atrocities. This included tweets from sports personalities, celebrities and political figures.

Shooter Heena Sidhu lashed out at Yousafzai for her statements and questioned her for running away from the country herself never to return.
"Ok so you propose handing over Kashmir to Pakistan because over there girls like yourself have had tooooo good of an education that you nearly lost your life and ran away from your country never to return. Why dont you show us by going back to Pakistan first," Sidhu wrote.

Earlier in 2016, the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that Yousafzai did not deserve the Peace Prize. While responding to a tweet, actor Paresh Rawal, too, concurred, and said that 'Malala proved him right'.

'The Tashkent Files' director Vivek Agnihotri, while replying to a tweet, posed why Yousafzai's 'CIA' agenda does not talk about the atrocities against Muslims in China. He also termed Malala 'communal'.

While some Indians accused Malala of defaming the country, others said that she is spreading fake news by saying that a Kashmiri school girl missed her examination in August.
With hundreds of angry tweets it seems like the Peace Prize winner has stirred a tweet war with her controversial statements about Kashmir.
Earlier, on August 5, the NDA government scrapped Article 370 of the Constitution which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and split the state into two union territories.
