Everyone wants to try get into the wearable space these days. Traditional watch brands in India are also vying for space in this segment. Timex is a known brand in the sector and now they’ve ventured into the fitness band market with Ironman Runx50+ that will be available to buyers soon.

It’s compatible with iOS right now and the Android will get its share of support in the coming months. You’ll get notifications for call, text message, social networking and emails right on your wrist.

There is some confusion right now whether this wearable needs to be paired with a mobile or does it work all by itself. Whatever the case, the time for Timex to get into the wearable fitness space seems ripe what with all eyes on Apple Watch’s performance
