Indian Super League bidding to be held today
The bidding wars begin again, this time for football, as the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is here. The player auction and draft will be held today in Mumbai.

Ten new players who missed out on the first season of the tournament (2014) will go under the hammer, while another 114 players will be up for grabs in the draft by the eight participating clubs. Amongst those up for the auction are star striker and forward, Sunil Chhetri and Robin Singh.

Chhetri, who played his heart out in India's disappointing run in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying games, has the highest base price of Rs 80 lakh among the ten. Another interesting feature this time will be the Instant Trading Card available to every team. Using this, other clubs can 'rebid' for a player after he is picked by a particular team, pressing the buzzer within 15 seconds of the player being bought. Fastest fingers, and feet, first.
