Indian connection at World Cup 2018: Dr Rob Chakraverty is part of Gareth Southgate’s backroom staff
Chakraverty joined the team in July 2016 when the Football Association hired him from British Athletics.

Meet Dr Rob Chakraverty, the doctor at England’s football team. He has been a member of Gareth Southgate’s 10-man backroom staff, joining the team in July 2016 when the FA (Football Association) hired him from British Athletics.
A former resident doctor and lower back injuries specialist at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, he describes himself on Twitter as Anglo-Indian. But this isn’t Chakraverty’s first brush with limelight or the world of sports stars — he has played doctor to several cricketers, footballers, rowers and rugby players in England, including UK’s most successful long-distance runner, Mo Farah.
