Indian actress shopped for Rs 23 lakh in one mall visit. Now regrets it and shares her investment advice

We all have experienced buyer’s remorse. Sameera Reddy is no exception. The ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’ actress recently revealed she had once spent a jaw-dropping sum of Rs 23 lakh on a shopping spree. In a candid interview with the financial advice platform 1% Club, the actress said she unwittingly spent much money in Dubai. Reddy was asked what was the largest sum of money she spent in a single day, to which she answered, “23 lakhs at a Dubai mall, just because they had one of those personal shoppers,” the 'Musafir' actress said. “They are there for a reason, you know. I stay far away from them now.”

Reddy, who currently resides in Goa, also discussed her investment strategy, encouraging listeners to invest wisely through Systematic investment Plans (SIPs).

When asked for advice for those aspiring to retire early, she responded simply: "SIPs."


She elaborated, saying, "SIPs are the most reliable approach because they allow you to invest at various market phases, shielding you from market fluctuations." Reddy also highlighted another benefit of SIPs—you can start with as little as Rs 500.

Reddy is known for movies such as ‘Maine Dil Tujko Diya’, ‘Musafir’, ‘Darna Mana Hai’ in Bollywood. She is married to entrepreneur Akshai Varde. Together they have two kids, a son named Hans and a daughter named Nyra.
