India@69: Raveena Tandon, Manoj Bajpayee invoke patriotism with short film ‘Thank You’

The film not only went viral, but was much appreciated and discussed. Apart from it just being a thrilling and chilling film, it was Sujoy's expression of the story of Ramayana's famous character Ahalya. Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon have earlier worked together in two critically acclaimed films Shool (1999) and Aks (2001).

We have now learnt that they have come back to do a short film together that has been directed by Vinay Jaiswal. The film titled Thank You brings out the importance of Independence Day and has been shot in South Mumbai and a restaurant in Kurla over just two nights and will soon be out online in the coming week.

A short film is not just short in duration, but it also has the luxury of being experimental without any risk or pressure of the box office. Top Hollywood directors have made short films for the longest time to express their creativity. Given that now the Indian directors and audiences seem to be attracted to the idea of making and watching such films, we can hope to see many more such films in the future.
